William is survived by his wife, Therese of Spearfish; brother, Tom of Sioux Falls; nephew, Karl Adam of Pierre; nieces, Kathy Bykowski of Eden Prairie MN., Paula Burchill of Sioux Falls and Sara Axtman of Harrisburg PA.He also had two adult step-children, Kathy Mc Neary of Hermosa and Keith Kuykendall of Marquette MI.
Through her youth, she herded sheep, worked as a housekeeper, candled eggs on a chicken farm, as a laundress at Ft. Gladys finally ended up working at the home of Tello and Lisa Peterson, where she met Harvey Peterson. They farmed at Opal, in Meade County, living in the sod house on the Harvey Talley ranch.In 1939, they moved to Sturgis for a short time, then to Faith, then returning to Opal. Gladys said she always wished for a house with a lot of bedrooms, so in 1961 they moved to Faith and purchased the West Hotel. ) They ran the hotel for 20 years and farmed north of Faith.The best travels were close to home to Mount Rushmore, Dinosaur Park and Wall Drug, which occurred almost every time the family was together.After retiring, she volunteered at the Senior Center.She was instrumental in opening the Faith Legion Community Hall.
There she served as Treasurer for 24 years, helped with the distribution of commodities, rummage sales, hunter's dinners, and other community events.
In 2013, Gladys moved to Kalispell, MT to live with her daughter, Marilynn. M., Friday, June 1, 2018, at Faith Legion Community Hall. Interment will occur at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis around P. Memorials can be made to Faith Legion Community Hall, Lions Club, or an organization of your choice in Gladys Petersons name.
In July 2017 Gladys moved in to Prestige Assisted Living. Send Flowers Sign/View Registry Edward Allen Tripp Sr., was born September 14, 1928 in East Hartford, CT, to Edward and Katherine (OBrien) Tripp in their home. They lived a short time in East Hartford then moved to South Windsor, CT, and finally settled in Glastonbury, CT, where they raised their family. Evelyn passed away June 25, 2011, one day before their 65th anniversary. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Preceding Gladys in death were her parents, George and Susan Hansell; husband, Harvey; daughter, Lois; son, Mark, Sr. Send Flowers Sign/View Registry Danny was born May 11, 1950, in Sturgis, SD, the son of Bill and Dorothy (Chaney) Hayes. Danny started his career in EMS in 1971 and graduated from South West Oklahoma City Community College with a Masters in EMS Training.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Marilynn Aasheim, Kalispell, MT; son, Carl Sr., (Judy) Peterson of Rapid City; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Peterson, Jonesborough, TN; grandchildren, Lois (Terry) Heckman, Loveland, CO, Lester Jr. He has been a member of Local Union #478 of the Union of Operating Engineers since 1949 where he worked as a Crane Operator until retirement. Edward, 89, Box Elder, died Friday, May 18, 2018, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
