I, too, will join in this search for the Holy Gruel. I raised my 3 children on it and they loved it also. I have dreams of finding it in the cereal island also and look everytime I shop for ceral. So I'm not the only one lusting for Fortified Oak Flakes! I'll make sure to forward your information onto the appropriate staff.I ate a lot of it about 1973 /- and last saw a box in Feb. Thanks for the tips about Toasted Oat Flakes and Oat Bran Flakes. :(Ever since I arrived in the USA (back in the late 60s) POST brand OAT FLAKES was my favorite. I had it for breakfast, took a bowlful to my place of work and would pour milk and eat it at noon, and certainly would not retire to bed without a large bowl of it with whole milk - mmm how delicious was it!! I wonder why such a high quality, nourishing and TASTY product was discontinued! That's what I wanted to say myself when I ran across your comment. I've been hanging on to a "no expiration date" coupon for years (and I really mean yeeeaaarrrs) taking it out every once and a while and searching the stores. This time I was wondering If I should bother keeping it. Again, thanks for contacting us, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy our products.
I was the only one in my family that ate this cereal. The ultimate bowl for me was Oat Flakes with about 1/2 cup of Grape Nuts on it - what a combo!! Bring back those best oat flakes that will ever be made!!! Wow, I don't think I am misunderstood when I say you all sound like my own mind echoing. After reading the Kraft comments, I feel like a father who gets "closure" after DNA tests verify that a body dug up was his son who was missing for the last 15 years.
the Honey Bunches of Oats cereal has a hint of that great Oat Flakes taste but only a hint, and it's too sweet. I've spoken to friends and coworkers for decades about that great cereal. I looked at some oat clusters, they were 30% sugar, beside the regular carbs. So, Ralcorp, not only would I buy a premium box of FOF, I won't be buying anything else. Sure, I strongly suspected the truth, but there was always just a shred of hope ...
We need a consumer revolt (peaceful ofcourse) to bring this product back!! That's why I decided to go online and see if there was even any hope of finding it. I think we should email Kim Mc Miller Associate Director, Consumer Relations a copy of all of our comments here. Kim Mc Miller Associate Director, Consumer Relations"I started eating them in the 80's and would buy 3 boxes at a time, and sometimes I would eat a whole box at one time.
I still look for them everytime I go to a different store.
I was sitting here remembering that yellow box of cereal and how much my brothers and sister and I loved that cereal. I appreciate you taking the time to e-mail us and let us know about this situation.
And we always said it in full, oddly enough "Post Fortified Oat Flakes, please." I thought surely, I'll find some "Hometown Favorites" group where I could order it at a box as a surprise for the next time we all get together. I have been looking for it since they took it off the market. We always like to acknowledge when our consumers provide us with information that can help us serve you better.I've found it at health food/organic food stores such as Whole Foods and Wild Oats. Trader Joe's is now in Ohio so I will have to try Toasted Oatmeal Flakes that other people have recommended and do my own taste test.Maybe if they didn't have such a stodgy name they would have caught on. I still scour stores trying to dind something without all the sugary cluster junk that oat flake cereals seem to have now.My mom and I are sitting here wondering if we could get some so I logged on to find a few select group of FOF lovers... Part of the charm of FOFs I thought was that they were so light and crispy. The tough part comes when we have to share the news that the product you're trying to find has been discontinued, as you are aware. If products don't seem to be popular with our consumers, and demand starts to drop, a decision is made to discontinue the item.Kim Mc Miller Associate Director, Consumer Relations Post is being acquired by Ralcorp. This is our best chance at getting this product back!
